TIPS for Taking Care of Your Mental Health, When Health Care is Under Attack

In these crazy times, let’s continue to support each other. Our healthcare system needs a lot of work & to put people first! But, if this bill passes, our health care & mental health resources will be even worse shape.

These are scary times, but you have power! Here are some suggestions for how to stay sane:

1) Take care of your mental health! Take breaks, don’t overwhelm yourself, do things that make you happy, and do things to minimize/release stress.

2) Take care of your physical health! Eat right, exetcise regularly, and drink water, and get health screenings. Your physical and mental health affect each other, so taking care of your body feeds your soul!

3) Join support groups! Being in a community of people who understand your struggles can be extremely therapeutic (and often inexpensive).

4) Join community groups that are fighting for a cause you believe in ! Not only will doing so be helpful to others, some research shows that when we are apart of the solution to a major problem, it actually makes us feel better too!

Remember, there is no guarantee that you’ll get the services you need from the government, and your mental health is too precious!

So, what are some ways you can protect your mental health?
